making use of prompt() in jsp.  RSS feed

hi
Is it possible in Jsp to prompt the user (as in javascript) to enter his name so that i can make use of the name entered by the user somewhere else in the program. any example would be very helpful.
this might look simple..but i'm just a beginner..pls help..

You can't prompt the surfer with JSP on the server-side - JSP doesn't execute in the browser. You should use the javascript prompt, or more easily, just a form & input field, and then use request.getParameter() to read the name, and then store the name in the session.
