Can you give us more detail? What do you mean by "ship" based on the client side?

Hi,
Iam building a e-learning site using jsp, servlet on tomcat.I want to create a offline learning functionality,so that the user can download the application from net and study it offline, complete test and assignment and then whenever the user connect to my site my application should upload the user's updated data to my database.
Thanks
