Testing team in my project is reporting that the comments that go with JSP are effecting the network performance of the system.
I believe the performance is a matter during the first time jsp->servlet conversion. Once the servlet is there in the server, how many the number of clients may be, there should not be any network implications.
Update me if you have any other opinions.
Thanks,
Kishore.

<!-- comments --> will, in theory if probably not in practice (unless you go overboard on the things). <%-- comments --%> will only affect the initial compilation.
If concerned about network bandwidth, use a filter to compress the server response. Most browsers support zip type compression. But if I were you I would require testing to show that it is a concern in any case.
