Hi,
I'm a software prof. and has been in Java related development since 1998, I work for a very big corporate and was in santa clara from 98 to 2000 , in April 2001, I was posted to India Development Center, so far so good... It was good developmental work in J2EE including EJBs till Jan, 2002 but believe me it has vanished now... ! I have been consultant to many big software firms here in India - and no company seems to have real development going on, either their software engineers are involved with work related to bug fixing or testing OR at many companies these engineers are even being used for customer support :-(
Still the new job market atleast in India is okay, I mean the recruitment is on but work is not there...
Fewer companies have got any project to start from scratch - enhancements are in every project... At this point of time, Sun is asking developers to get certified on EJB ??? Is it being used ?

Hey,
This is not the forum to put this question sam.
Besides, Sun is not developing the EJB exam for developers in
India alone.

Hey Sam,
I noticed that you seem to have a history of cross-posting to multiple forums. Please avoid doing this in the future. It is found to be extremely annoying among those of us that frequent multiple forums and is generally considered bad netiquette.

I have never been to India and I am NOT qualified to say anything about what is going on in the Indian IT field.
I have an Indian friend working at the Cognizant in Chennai. He has been working on a pipeline of new projects and must work lots of overtime lately. Of course, the experience of one person does not represent the general situation in the entire industry. Maybe my friend is a special case?

An ex-colleague of mine who recently returned to India has joined a big Indian firm last month and they are executing a project for a British bank.
