I am doing a project, which change a old portal to a new portal. Old portal use frame to link pages. In my new portal I have a naivigate bar, which has a drop down menu.
I just wondering how I can inlude this navigate bar into existing files without change every one to 'include' or 'sendRedirect' to it.
Can I use filter, or something else to implement it? Can I find sample code somewhere?
Please advice!

Most likely you're going to have to add an include into every existing file.
You might be able to add the navigation bar using HTML frames. You could create a frame for the bar and then put all of your existing content in another frame.
I'm not sure if this is feasible with your application. My sense is that it'd be much easier to add include statements in the existing files...

Thanks for reply. My problem is using frame is not flexible, because the dropdown list take many space. And it is so tedia to change very file.
I try to use filter today, but the result is not very good. It only show up half. I know a little about filter, can filter be used for this purpose.
I mean my header is a big file, maybe filter is only used to do small things.
Any reply would be appreciated.

are you flushing the output stream properly? If you are using a buffered stream to print to out then some of the content could be lost in there. Its a little difficult to guess what the problem is without seeing the code for the filter and mor einfo about what the difference betweene the expected output and the actual output are?
