Now a days getting this type of visa is difficult unless you are employed in companies like Infosys,Wipro or medium sized company with few offices in USA.Do you qualify this criteria?Rejecting the visa does not require any reason from consulate person.Consulate person from an country anywhere can reject anybody's visa without any valid resaon.
Generally the implicit 'reasons' for rejections
1)You are working in IT industry and you are of age between 25-35.
2)Company is not so famous.
3)Unemployment is on rise and you may displace US citizen there.
Joining CMM Level 4/5 company is the only solution I could see.

Given the current economic situation in the USA the policy on handing out business visa has been a lot stricter lately.
Basically if you have no unique skills you're unlikely to get in for an extended period.
You probably would have gotten a visa for a short visit (like a few meetings with your US counterparts or a few weeks of study and consultation).

i m sure this could be a reason, but for your information i m not the first person applied for the visa from my company.its not that thy denied me the visa (no problems), but just the reason thy have given me. may be it was a kind of warning ,what u say.

Hi Ankit,
I think someone misquote the US Embassy Rept. I think your branch applied for the wrong reason. Let's see "TIES with America" implied the US company and "TIME does matter" implied B1 visa is exceeding quota??? As I understood business mean someone at the executive/management level someone will come to US help to negotiate contract, taking order, etc. It for very short term and no employment intended. My hintsight B1 visa has been corrupted by Indian; therefore, US Embassy Rept. giving you hard time. Have you find out which visa status that your colleagues applied under?
I have my counterparts and engineers from Far East and Europe come to my site in California almost every month without any problem. Otherwise, multinational companies will not function smoothly.
Regards,
MCao

How much experience do you have in the industry?
One of my friend's visa got rejected some time back. Though no reason was given then, it is pretty obvious that it was mainly due to his experience.
A person with 5+ years of experience is more fit to attend the business meetings or to give presentations than a person having 1 or 2 years of experience.

may be you are right with the 'TIME' quote , as Rept did't say more , but I don't think any reasons for bad TIES with America with my company .company client's list has big US giants.

Have you find out which visa status that your colleagues applied under?

yes , thy applied for the same category but some time back.

How much experience do you have in the industry?

my overall experience is around 3 years and wroking in this company for 1 year now.

As per my experience, if u are from a big shot company like Infy,TCS/WPRO etc. or even a middle sized one with a good name US/India market, the chances of getting a rejection is very low whereas in other companies its sheer luck nothing else ... don't go on the reason they gave you ...!!!
Even recently I have seen ppl getting B1 with 2 yrs of overall experience and with a 2 week experience in the company (frm which they applied), but they had big brand name behind them ... and tht really count these days !!!
