I'm working on a JSP tag extension exercise using the SUN J2EE Application Deployment Tool v1.3. I'm having a problem adding a WAR to my application. My structure seems OK:
hello.jsp
WEB-INF/
web.xml
classes/
tagext/
HelloTag.class
tlds/
hello.tld
I created hello.war using:
jar -cvf hello.war WEB-INF\classes\tagext\*.class WEB-INF\tlds\hello.tld WEB-INF\web.xml hello.jsp
All files show added properly. When I try to add the WAR to the application (JSPTags.ear), I get a message: hello.war does not appear to be a valid web JAR
Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Hi,
Try this to create your war file.
Assuming that your application is "myapplication" under your application server.
Go to command prompt and go the servers directory.Just one level bellow your application directory.
Now give this.
jar -cvf myApp.war myappication\
Just check this war file out.
cheers.
