Hi!
I'm using a class Y in Package X. When i try to import X using <% page import>, it is not reporting any error at that line. But later in the code when i try to instantiate the class or use the static methods of the class, 'It give me 'NoClassDefFoundError'. The environemnt is Oracle 9i AS. Any ideas why this happens?
thanks in advance

The import statement does not check to see if the package can be found so your problem may be simply a classpath/library problem.
Where do you have the package stored?

But when i give a class which is not existing in that package, i'm getting the error at the import statement itself. BTW, i'm storing the package in the ORACLEAS_ROOT/j2ee/home/lib directory. I am able to access the other classes in the package. I also tried extracting the jar and verified the integrity of that particular class using a decompiler.
