Hi,
1.A form of main JSP is submitted to the servlet
2. onsubmit of the main JSP a child window should be opened.
3. the parameters should be passed to the servlet from the main JSP
4. the servlet should obtain them, compute the values and pass it to the child window through request.
Everything should happen onSubmit.
is this possible?
Could anybody help me on this.

Sure it is possible, assuming you mean a new browser window not a DOS window, right?
This is a qucik, off the top of my head solution and someone else might have a better one:
When the form submits you'll have to open the nw window then, client side, and have it send a request to the server.
In the mean time the original page will submit to the server and go to some other page. Once the server has the new data it processes it and savesthe results in the session. The request from the new widow comes in, get the results, and diplays them. You culd run into some timeing issues if the processing takes too long and the results aren't ready for the new window. I guess you could always open it an have it not do anything for a few seconds then send a request to get the answers...
