Ok this is where I am upto.
I have installed the jdk1.4(of course)
I have also installed tomcat. I have set the JAVA_HOME variable and I am able to start and stop the server.
I have also downloaded the Enterprise version of the jdk.
However, I am not sure where to install it to?
Do I need to set a path?
Do I need the Enterprise version?
Would someone be able to give me step by step by step instuctions on what I have to do so I can get JSP and servlets working.
Thank you very much for your help
David

No you do not need the Enterprise version. If you can run Tomcat and see the Tomcat example JSP and servlets then the simplest thing to do is study those examples - they really are quite good.
Carefully study the web.xml entries for each example.
Download the servlet and JSP APIs from java.sun.com and keep them around for ultimate reference.
If you can't run Tomcat, go back and study the installation instructions that come with it - they are also quite good.
