I'm not sure what I might have done to cause this, or if this is even a problem really, but when I start Tomcat using the startup.bat file I get a normal startup up to the point where it says:
Apache Tomcat/4.1.12
Oct 28, 2002 2:22:44 AM org.apache.commons.digester.Disgester error
SEVERE: Parse Error at line 42 column 18: The content of element type "param-name" must be "null"
from this point on a slew of other errors occur, and then it starts the HTTP service without errors.
I'm just starting programming JSP/Servlets and everything seems to work ok so far, but these errors on startup worry me. I may just reinstall Tomcat to see if that fixes thnigs, but if I could track down what is causing this I'd feel a lot better about what's going on under the hood.

Last time I had a similar problem when I modified my web.xml to add initparameters to my servlet. I realized I was using a wrong format/grammar to specify the init-param. If you changed your web.xml try to copy the newly added part from some similar example file to be sure of syntax and then modify the values.
Hope that helps.
