jsp page does not load

hi
i am a beginner in JSP
which dir. should i put the jsp pages

and what URL to use in the browser to access them
do i have to change the web.xml file in the conf dir also.
i am using tomcat 4.1

Tomcat 4.1 comes with a nice set of sample servlets and JSP. Study the way the JSP pages are stored, the web.xml file in the examples directory, and the URLs the examples page uses to address them.

Also, check out coreservlets.com. It has the entire book (for free!) of the SunPress Core Servlets and JavaServer Pages by Marty Hall.
The first chapter is an excellent introduction to configuring Tomcat.
