I am using the Struts logic tags to do some simple content selection.
I have populated a summary bean in my display action, and figured I could use the standard bean mechanism of defining boolean access methods starting with is to return a value. But this does not seem to work and I have had to resort to using a public get* method that returns a string "true" or "false" and then base my logic tag around that.
here are code snippets that illustrate my problem.
logic tag

ideal public method

public getter i have been forced to resort to

this has the effect of forcing my summary bean to be JSP specific rather and is just ugly.
am I missing something obvious? is there a better, more standard way?
TIA - dave

well today seems to be my day for answering my own questions. It appears the problem I was having was related to my other post on this forum, namely the buggered version of Tomcat I was running. My beans work a-okay as expected now.
