I want to ask what is the best way to implement the support for multiple languages for a jsp based application. I had implemented it using a simple table in database and the other way I know is using Resouce bundle. which one is better under what circumstances.???
and is it possible to use a converter at runtime. though I think it will not be possible to translate with 100% accuracy.but can anyone tell me any site or application using this and its advantages/disadvantages
thanx

yup, here the site is in 5 langs. the messages are maintained in a database and there is a small prog that will dump them to resource bundle files.
The site can be switched between database (for dev work) and bundles (normal operation) at runtime.

yup I was also involved in 2 such sites. what I need to know is that if I can use any runtime converter (language converter like systran(cud be word by word)), so that I need not to store that values in database or properties file.I think I'll end up using one of these. but I want to explore more. can anyone tell me about feasibility of such approach(converter)
thanx in advance

i guess it depends on how much time/effort you want to put into it. here the site is high profile (european banking) so the messages are all translated by real people. i would have thought a non-human translation engine could do an ok job?
