Hi,
is there a limitation of the url's length regarding GET parameters and large textarea-strings ?

Yes... but the actual limit is dependent on the Web Server.

Hi Chris,
do you know if it is adjustable... could it be buffersize in my tomcat's server.xml? And is there some sort of common value with the different webservers ?

The limit is 256 characters according to the spec, but some webservers extend it.

256 only? Ouh.
Guess all webserves accept more.
Thanks for your replies.

Can you not use the POST method rather than the GET ? This would allow you to enter virtually unlimited length into the text area fields.

I know.
But sometimes one only can use GET, because one can't manipulate the parameters in a request object. It's just for interest.

256 should be sufficient for anyone!
