I have three jsp pages suppose x,y,z.Both x and z are processed by y jsp page.
Now I want to know ,How can I know that whether request has come from x page or z page.
please help.

Give both x and z, a parameter named e.g. referrer
<input name="referrer" type="hidden" value="x">
wich you check in y:

I am not sending any data thru anything either form control or any other method.

Even if you are just using a link it's a type of form. "get" operations can be passed without declaring a form.
For example, pageY.jsp?referer=x passes the one parameter.

use request.getRequestURI() can satisfy you request.
