Hi,
I used the following tag:
<td width=100>
No matter what value I give to the width attribute, the cell width always stays the same, that is as fit as possible to the string I have in that cell. Is there anyway I can adjust the width? Thanks.

There are many dynamics which govern table layout which could cause the browser to override your width setting.
This is hardly a JSP question. I'd recommend you repost your question in the HTML/Javascript forum with more information about how the table as a whole is coded. (Please be sure to use the UBB code tags).
hth,
