Hi guys,
I ran into a question in a test. I wonder can someone confirm whether the answer is C?
Question: JSP tag libraries
A. May be used in servlets also

B. Are part of the EJB specification

C. Uses TLD's to provide metadata

I chose C, because the rest doesn't make sense. What is TLD anyway ?

hi,
as far as i understand, tld's are to provide functionalities which are not available in HTMl and whic are needed repeatdly ( such as looping, pagination etc), for which lots of complex code is needed. Keeping in mind these all answers seems to be wrong.

TLD stands for Tag Libraby Descriptor. Its basically an XML document that maps the tag names to their tag handlers. i.e. the classes that handle and generate the HTML output for the tag.
Also it has the specification about the attributes for the tag.
You can find more information about this on the Jakarta project site.
