hello,
i have a html which displays a form. when user clicks on 'Submit' button I want the contents of the form to be emailed to the administrator. it will be like a problem report sheet so that people can submit problems over the intranet. i have tried using ASP because everything is microsoft in our office. however, i got the annoying permissions problem.
so, i being a natural addict of java thought of using JSP instead. but before i actually use it i would like to know if anyone has had any info. about security issues involved in it. like anonymous account should have full permissions on the mailroot folder??
if anyone has encountered any security problems while implementing email from JSP that would be great help
Thanks in advance,

What are you trying to accomplish exactly?
From the way I read it you're trying to have a JSP write an email message to the SMTP server database directly? DON'T.
Use JavaMail to send the message, that way there's no issues (unless you are careless and create an open relay that way, make sure the TO address is fixed so people can't use your interface to send spam using some script).

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
