jsp:setProperty. JSP to servlet

Hi all,
I have a question.
is it not possible to use
<jsp:setProperty......> for setting valuebeans from form submission (in JSP)to servlet..
Pls clarify.

<jsp:setProperty name="mybean" property="*" />
The names of the properties in the Bean must match the names of the request parameters.

Yes they are matching..
Prob is it's working when my action is some JSP but not working when my action is some servlet invocation
