Accessing Variable Declarations W/ Struts Tags

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Does anyone know how I can access variables declared as

in jsp's using struts tags? I have a variable declared as such and I'm trying to do

but am getting the following exception:
Cannot find bean list in any scope javax.servlet.ServletException: Cannot find bean list in any scope at org.apache.jasper.runtime.PageContextImpl.handlePageException(PageContextImpl.java:533)
even though I can access it with scriplet code. I know that the variable gets put in the compiled servlet so that it can be accessed anywhere in the class using scriplet code but I'm wondering if there's any way struts tags can access these as well as it's obviously not in any of the standard scopes.

Hi Alex, welcome to the Ranch!
You'll find this forum a great place to seek help on JSP pages, and there aren't many rules you'll have to worry about, but one is that proper names are required. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and change your display name to match it.
Thanks!
