do we need java bean in between JSP and Entity bean? cant we call Entity bean from jsp directly?

hmm... no you don't need it. I'm just wondering if you're actually referring to a session bean instead of a java bean

Yes, you can certainly call an entity bean from a jsp directly. But you should not do that. Have a look at this article.
