when to use jsp xml syntax

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
hi!
i'm new to jsp so this is probably a basic question.
I'm just wondering if the jsp xml syntax is something everyone should shift to, or is it a case to case basis?
thanks!

In my opinion you should choose for each case. Generally if I'm using JSP, I use the regular <%-style syntax as it's simpler and more familiar to most people. For one project where I was generating jsp files from XML using XSLT, I needed to use the XML syntax, so I did.
Use whichever is most appropriate.

Welcome to the Ranch patlv23!
You'll find this forum a great place to seek help on JSP pages, and there aren't many rules you'll have to worry about, but one is that proper names are required. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and change your display name to match it.
In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.
Thanks!
