Role Based Menu in a JSP Page.

I have a JSP page with some Menu Items. The problem is i want to Enable or Disable some Menu Items based on the User or Role. pls help me.

- One solution is redirect to a jsp that has only the menus you want, depending on the user.
- another solution is to use the userInRole API of HttpServletRequest. Something like:

if (request.isUserInRole("Employee")) // checks if the user is an employee 
{
  // display certain menu.
}
