so? 15000 new jobs, a third of which will be in the US. Seeing as IBM is a global company that's not so strange is it? Quite different from the initial scare report someone posted somewhere that said IBM was scrapping 15000 jobs in the US...
Unfortunately, some of this appears to be PR, as offshoring was mentioned as a factor. Also, I noted that they were intending to hire a lot of them fresh (and cheap [implied]) out of college. Which is going to be small consolation to the thousands of experienced people they previously laid off.
