Vastly different. Servlets are a means by which you can extend the functionality of a web server to perform server-side action on the behalf of your web application. In a tiny nutshell, JavaBeans are classes that follow a conventional pattern that make their APIs predictable, and therefore useful in a number of other technologies (Servlets and JSP being just one of them).
A google search on JavaBeans will reveal much much more...
