I know that, after reading your weblog, you had to scrample to get the latest changes in the newest release of JSF into the book.
So does your book address some of these changes and explain why they were made in the JSF spec?
Also, do you foresee any more significant changes in the spec before it's final release?

Hi Greg,
We did not attempt to compare the pre-release with the beta instead we focused on getting the book to match the beta. Many of the changes were due to feed back from the community but just as many were put in place to fill holes that were known in the pre-release.
As for future changes I can only hope they are much less than were in this change
I expect that things are starting to calm down quite a bit and the next release will be mostly refinement instead of reworking.

So could you comment on the production-readiness of JSF? When would expect app developers to be able to reliably use JSF for production apps?

Hi Bear,
Well its ready now for prototyping but I'd say give it 6 months or so before you will have prod ready impl's.
Hope this helps!

So do you think the current beta is stable enough that when the release version comes along, there won't be too much pain to make it work? If you think some things might need improvement over the current beta what would they be?

Bill,
How does Jsf compare with ASP .Net? Does JSF include some nice featured provided by ASP .NET.

Pradeep,
It's usually a good idea to start a new thread when the question really has nothing to do with the current thread. Plus, Bill will probably be more likely to see and respond to it than having your question buried in abother thread.
Just a suggestion though.
