One of the books I really appreciated (and still do) is the book "core servlets and Java Server Pages" from Marty Hall. Marty Hall has also a website dedicated to servlets and JSP's which you can find at http://www.coreservlets.com/. The first edition of his book "core servlets" can be downloaded at his website in pdf format.
If you're looking for a free java IDE, you can find it at http://www.eclipse.org/. Eclipse is a very complete IDE.
If you'd like to start with a simpler IDE, try JCreator. Very good when you're just beginning : http://www.jcreator.com/. Try the Community Edition, it's free.
For your JSP's, I recommend the editor Gel, which you can download at http://www.gexperts.com/gel.html.
