Many of my friends in and round UK and Ireland started new permanent roles in last 3-6 month. Some of them were out of work upwards of six months; some of them were already employed; some of them (and myself) gave up short contracts for the stability of permanent roles. Most of my friends who just graduated got a job, one in cali, and one here in NYC. NYC seems to be picking up abit in the last few months, I've been getting some cold calls lately, and the number seems pretty good.
I just got a job in a small company developing web applications in ASP/ASP.Net.. I finished my master in Scotland autumn 2002, and I've been looking for programming jobs since January 2003. While I would have preferred a Java programming job, it seems to be impossible in Norway unless you have several years of experience. Vidar
