diff. between the class and type in the useBean tag  RSS feed

Hi,

What is the difference b/w

<jsp:useBean type=XXX /> and
<jsp:useBean class=XXX />

I am getting bean or class not instantiation error when I use <jsp:useBean type /> tag. But <jsp:useBean class /> doesn't give error. Just cusious to know.
