I am lots of problem while setting up the server for jsp.I have both tomcat and java web server(trial version).Java web server is not working in xp and tomcat is not working in 98.Can they run concurrently in the same computer.
To make the matter worse i have to run the javawebserver by dynamically allocating the java_home variable.Could somebody please explain to me why these all are happening.Could somebody please tell me the process of setting of the server relating to setting up of the evironment variables.
While tomcat is running nicely in the xp.

For Tomcat not running in Win98, that is likely to be the Environment memory space problem. Tomcat does a lot of manipulation of Environment variables - as you can see by looking at the batch files. You can right-click on the upper left corner of the MSDOS prompt window -> Properties, and increase the memory space to say 4096. (Sorry I can't remember the exact sequence.)

Tomcat can co-exist with other web servers IF you change the port usage around to avoid conflicts.
