I've just gotten back into html, with an eye to updating my site (http://backspaces.net/). Well, being an old timer, I decided to find out what's up now adays. Holly cow^H^H^Hmoose, what a surprise! Css/Xhtml has tamed the mad civilians who were destroying the web.
So after reading a few books, I put together a talk for our local tech folks: http://backspaces.net/play/ which has the same html rendered three interesting ways, with css changes only (see play2-4, the last of which is for palm os and phones.
So I'm absolutely fixed on any cms system letting me have full control over the css/xhtml that gets to the user's browser.
So here's the question: Is there a java based cms/blog system that allows complete control over the css/xhtml? I've found Velocity and love it as a tool, but I don't know if anyone uses it in cms/blog systems. WordPress seems to be the designer's choice (A List Apart, Eric Meyers, etc) but is php/mysql based .. which is a bit weird, I think. But I'll use it if there isn't a nifty java solution.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! And this tiny ad too!
