How the buffer is used in the single instance of JSP/Servlet?

The JSP/Servlet engine only create one instance for a given JSP.
If I set the buffer size equals 32kb and there are more than
one requests to the same instance of the JSP, is the buffer
shared by all the requests or each request has its own buffer?

Each has its own buffer.

Is the JSP engine always allocate a fresh 32kb memory for
each request, even the contents in the buffer is only 1kb?
I guess my question is how the memory is handled. Is this
depended on server (WLS, WAS)?
