Hi, Can someone suggest me which certification is better to pass SCWCD or SCBCD from job point of view.
I have about six seven months of experience in JSP and Servlets so surely SCWCD will be easy for me then SCBCD as I have no experience with EJB's.But when I look on job boards like dice there are several more requirements for EJB then for JSP or servlets.
Just have to make up my mind in one or two days and will start preparing so any advice will be helpful.
Thanks
Gopal

No doubt, you may have to pass both eventually. Since you are SCWCD ready, you can get it certified first. Then, move on to the next exam. The competitions are fierce out there. Many (repeat many) engineers that I known are out of job for 2 to 3 years already, and they are going for all these SUN certifications just to be more competitive.

You have 7 months of JSP servlet experience, no EJB experience and you want to compete with engineers who you admit have years of experience? And you expect a cert to help you? This is the problem with certs as they are currently dispensed. They are worthless. Failure on a project is as useful as success since at least you now know what doesn't work. Experience is everything.

Hey Scott you got borned with experience. You could try to be helpful.
If you can't be helpful then just don't give your opinion that is
discouraging to others. You broke all the rules in this forum.

I would sugest SCWCD. But not to the Scott coz he already knows everything.

Thanks. Alan for the suggestion. i already started preparing for SCWCD but I have decided to get 080 instead of 081 the new one, as that suits my experience better and I guess it is less work in comparison to SCJP 1.4
Scott, I am a Computer Engineering and I am getting these certifications because I am planning to change my job.

I think that you should go for 81. It is similar. while K&B book dont get out prepare from study kit. Then polish it with HF. taht is what I will do. We are geting certs to prove that we know to use latest technology.
