I do not have this specific book, but I have read some of the head first books and they are very easy to learn from.

Hi there

I am preparing these days for the SCWCD, I have read the HFJS book.
The book is generally great with a lot of fun reading it, you can learn alot by it, but I have noticed some mistakes while reading it, which you can see and correct at this linkLink
also you have to followup the topics posted in the JavaRanch forum SCWCD, alot of usefull questions and comments about the book.
I have also noticed that some tiny topics were not covered by the book such as the dynamic attributes for custom tags and tag files, which you can refer to the JSP 2.0 Specification for more details.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
