connecting error on jsp

Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"). newInstance();

con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/lexdata","","");

i got a error like this at the time of running in Tomcat Server what this error


com.mysql.jdbc.Driver



plz help me how to clear this error

You're probably getting this error because the JDBC driver isn't in your classpath. Do you have a copy of the MySQL driver JAR file in your /WEB-INF/lib directory of your web application?

Moving this to the JSP forum, since it's probably more JSP related than JDBC...

Hi

You can also put the jar files of your mysql driver in the jre/lib/ext folder of your jdk installation, example c:\jdk1.3.1_04\jre\lib\ext.
