Hi all, I'm quite new to jsp's but getting there.. However I would like to create reports from my jsp app' but am not sure how to go about doing this.

In the perfect world I would like to deliver a pdf to the users browser.

But where would I start ? Querying some tables then formatting the output in the form of a PDF... hmm

Is this even possible ?

Thanks,

Absolutely. Search these forums for the terms iText and POI. These are packages for PDF-generation. Setting the appropriate content type and disposition response headers lets the browser know that a PDF is coming its way.

JSP, however. is a poor choice for streaming non-text data. You'd be much better off using a servlet to stream your generated PDF data.
