Can somebody tell me on how can I upload a file in my application(
JSP
) then save it on a particular directory of the application server, is it possible? which is better to save it on the database or on the AS?..thanks

uploaded files can be stored on both AS as well on DB it all depends on ur specific requirement.

The jakarta commons fileupload libraries are pretty much the standard these days:
