I want to know the scenerio when to use the class and type in jsp:useBean tag.

Take a look at JSP.5.1 in the JSP Specification.
There is a link to it in my signature.
It goes into quite a bit of detail and explains the difference between the two.

in short when you are using abstract classes.

useBean create an instance of class if does not exist in particular scope.
and abstract classes can not be instantiated, and you will get ann error when an instance would be created

eg: you and have an abstract class A and a class B extending A then you will write as
