how can we catch expections in struts using JSP's

The point of Struts (or any mvc framework) is to not put functional code that would require try/catch blocks in JSPs in the first place.

Any code that could potentially throw an exception should be processed in the controller (servlet) or model (beans) before forwarding to the view (jsp) for display.
