i am in a tough situation.please guide me.
i have worked for TCS on non-java platform for 6 months. i then left the job and was jobless for 9 months.three months back i got a job on java. i am working on EJB and servlets. i have received a call for a walk-in for Oracle , Delhi through a consultant firm. the requirement is for 6+ months w/x in core java. i am an SCJP. should i go for the interview?since it is a walk-in, is there a possibility of a written test?i am very nervous.i do not remember core java in great detail.

Dont get nervous try to revise the basics of core java and do some googling for core java interview questions. There will be definitely a written test followed by technical and HR round. Best of Luck

My suggestion is that you should go in for the interview. What is the worst that can happen? You won't get the job; since you already have one it wouldn't matter much except to your ego. Everyone doesn't land a job from every single interview that one goes to. You will learn from each interview you go to. So take this as another step up the learning ladder.

The best that can happen is you get the job. Then you can decide whether you want to take that offer up or not. Since you already have a job, you will be able to negotiate from a position of strength.

I think you are giving oracle ,india undue importance. Sure the name is big.
But getting into oracle, india is no big deal! It once was. But that was a few years back. So relax. You will do just fine.
