Hi All,

I have 3+ yrs. in Java/J2EE Platform technologies and I have offers from WIPRO, CTS(COGNIZANT TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS), POLARIS and out of these companies which one offer better career prospects with onsite opportunities ?

Basically I am interested in improving my profile in domain level as well as technology level.

Polaris will be better option I think.Wipro is too flamboyant and does publicity of everything. It may come in trouble in future.CTS is also good and offers good perks.(Rs 600000 p/year) was salary my friend was getting with 3 years of experience.Polaris is less noise making company.I don't know about salary there.

3 yrs experience & 6.0 lacs p/yr?
He must be from a good B-School or something like that.

CTS is a good company but its salary sucks and has too many variable components in that. Onsite opportunities in CTS are good.

Are you joining CTS as a programmer analyst or an Associate?

CTS is better to me, esp. in terms of work culture.

An "Associate" is one step ahead than a "Prog. Analyst" in the organisational ladder.

Khanna,

We must be prepared for any project once we join the company and hence joining on the basis of project-specific-information is not a good idea and we should always prove ourselves in every kind of environment/project we are.

Now, I have offers from POLARIS and CTS both from HYDERABAD. Now tell me what are your views of POLARIS and CTS irrespective of the projects they execute.

Thanks & Regards,
Gurudatta

Hi
my friend applied in CTS, pune few days back ..but neither their offer was good nor they promised on onsite scope.
I guess polaris tells at the time of recruitment itself..whether the requirement is for onsite or not.

whats their offer to you in terms of salary ? who is paying higher ?

Hi Timan Wadhwani,

Polaris offer is little bit higher than CTS but they are only into FINANCIAL Verticals unlike CTS. It takes almost 1 yr. in any company to prove ourself and go onsite and so I think based on onsite I am unable to decide a company.

Regards,
Ravi.

Very few big companies are giving onsite opportunities in India now a days.Small companies do send people from time to time onsite.

I don't have much internal info about these companies. But I will choose Polaris. Its a low profile .and its customer base is in Asia Pacific also in addition with EU/America.Chances of going on site,I think are more in Polaris. But today situation is such that we can't say anything.

I feel onsite opportunities are much better in CTS than in Polaris, as I know few of my friends who have joined CTS, from Polaris are being given good onsite opportunities.
