jstl problem-accessing database

I am using jstl to access thedatabase

It is working if I am using <sql:query > tag ,but when executing
<sql:update>
it throws exception

Plz tell me what is wrong??

My guess would be that your JDBC driver doesn't support the operation you are trying to carry out.

no. its not the driver problem b'coz the <sql:query> tag is working
means i can query data but cant modify it

I think Tim addressed the same issue. He was saying the same thing, that the driver might not support the inserts and updates.
