InstantiationException: bean not found within scope

i m trying to install an application on tomcat 4.0.6
i m using following piece of code in my welcome.jsp page
<jsp:useBean id="eventProcessor" type="com.sourcetap.sfa.event.GenericEventProcessor" scope="session" />

the class GenericEventProcessor is inside package
com/sourcetap/sfa/event inside web-inf/classes of my application folder

when i try to run the application, its givivng following error
java.lang.InstantiationException: bean eventProcessor not found within scope

thanks for all help in advance

There aren't may rules that have been put into place here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.
