i have created a button on my jsp page that when it is clicked it has to execute an sql query.how can i do that directly from the jsp page???

Hi,

if you mean in "directly" without submitting the form and redirect the page I think it's imposible. !! but you can do it by redirecting the page to it self and execute the query when the form is submitted.

This question tells me that you need to spend some more time learning about basic web programming. I would spend some time following a few JSP/Servlet tutorials. Then, if you haven't already, follow a few JDBC tutorials.
