Hi,

I am learning JSP & Servlet. I am using Tomcat 4.1.x and JDK 1.5. I can able to start the tomcat server and the index page is displaying.

I whave written one sample program in Servlet and when I tried compile that, I am getting the following error message:

javax.servlet.*; package doesn't exists
javax.servlet.Servlet.*; package doesn't exists

Why I am getting this error?

I have set the path for jdk1.5\bin and JAVA_HOME path for jdk1.5.

Thanks in advance,
Ahmed

You need servlet.jar in you classpath. Its in the Tomcat libraries somewhere - %TOMCAT_HOME%/common/lib as far as I remember.
