i tried a small example to write tld. i was asked to put the tld file in the WEB-INF folder.
but the c.tld file exists in the jstl.jar.
how does the container find c.tld?
where all does the container search for the tld files?

See the
JSP
Spec for details, but basically the container will search for tld files in the folder hierarchy under WEB-INF as well as in the META-INF folder of any jar files in the classpath.
