Hi,
I am new to JSP, can anybody help me to get the difference in putting the <jsp:setProperty> tag inside and outside of <jsp:useBean> tag.

Thanks in Advance

Short answer:
Putting it inside the useBean tag sets the property only when the the bean is first created.

Longer answer:
The best way to find out about things like this is to create a JSP that does both, run it, and then look at the generated servlet code.

[corrected pre-caffine wording error. Thanks, ramprasad]

when the the tag is first created.

Ben meant - "when the bean specified in the class attribute of the useBean tag is instantiated".

cheers,
ram.
