Hi

We are using jasper report to download the report in the server (jboss). When I click the link "View Report" while testing it in IE I get the following message

InternetExplorer Cannot Download survey report SurveyReportPDF3.pdf from localhost. Internet explorer was unable to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.

Although I am able to view these reports in Mozilla and Netscape. The code of the rptPreview.jsp page is as follows:

<%@ taglib uri="/tags/struts-bean" prefix="bean" %>
<%@ taglib uri="/tags/struts-logic" prefix="logic" %>
<%@ page import="com.r911.core.model.GeneratingReport" %>

<HEAD>
</HEAD>
<BODY>

<% if(( (GeneratingReport)request.getSession().getAttribute("Generating")).getGenerating() == true){
response.setHeader("Refresh","3; URL=/r911/report/rptPreview.jsp");
JspWriter output = pageContext.getOut();
output.write("Processing Report...");
}
else
{
if( ((Boolean)request.getSession().getAttribute("EmptyReport")).booleanValue() == false)
{
String fileName = (String)session.getAttribute("fileName");
StringBuffer path = new StringBuffer("/r911/report/tmp/");
path.append(fileName);
%>
<h3>Processing Complete</h3>
<a href=<%=path.toString()%> taget='_self' >
View the report </a>
<% }
else
{
%>
<h4> Empty Report </h4>
Requested Report has no Data
<%
}
}
%>
</BODY>

I found the solution. The issue is with Internet Explorer (IE 6). To resolve this issue in jboss add context.xml with following content in your .war/WEB-INF folder

<!-- The contents of this file will be loaded for each web application -->
<Context>

<Valve className="org.apache.catalina.authenticator.FormAuthenticator"
disableProxyCaching="false" />
</Context>

Hope this will solve the problem for you also unless microsoft provides a fix.

Thank you Muhammad for posting back with the solution you found. I am sure that people running into the same problem in the future will appreciate it as well.
