Hello ranchers,
Can anyone of you plz tell me what are the chances of getting a job in Indian IT industry for a person who is not an Indian citizen but has over 3 years of programming experience in Java.
I would really appreciate any suggestion from you.

It depends on the country from which he is coming. If he is coming from an English spoken country, defintely there is very bright chances with 3 yrs experience.

I am not a guru.(I am still shishya(disciple) of Dronacharya. ).
If you are from neighboring countries like Nepal,Myanmaar,Sri Lanka I don't think getting visa will be that difficult except Pakistan.Recently there was a report regarding this. There are almost 3000 foreigners working in Bangalore.Majority of them are in IT related companies.Philips Software R&D center is headed by Dutch national for past some 3/4 years. Many big offshores centers have people from US/Brazil/Finland.But these numbers are not in thousands but small but likely to increase depending on market. If you are coming from US/UK etc then you won't get equivalent salary here.

Hello Arjun,
I have found your reply to be very helpful. You mentioned that getting visa is not that difficult for people from neighboring countries except Pakistan. I agree with you but will the companies be helpful in assisting me to get the work permit? Because I think without the work permit my visa is of no use. What do you think?
Thanks a lot for your reply.
Regards
A.
